Vivid 2018

Since it first started in 2009, Vivid has grown into a 23 day grandiose festival of “light, music and ideas”, lighting up landmark buildings around Sydney CBD with various colours and projections. It’s also when photographers from all corners of the country and beyond flock to the city in search for something unique to photograph.

A passing boat underneath the Harbour Bridge might as well represent the fleeting nature of the city, with many inhabitants mostly in transit.

A light pergola covering part of a walkway allowed for some interesting shapes to be created with some camera twists and turns on a fairly short exposure.

A high dynamic range from the upper entrance might reveal a lesser known part of the famed Opera House.

While panning and tilting the camera at the end of a long exposure, light from the harbour bridge can be made to flow over the Opera House.
